GWP Litter Pick 27th January 2018

Thank you all, for turning up to assist with the first GWP Litter Pick today, the weather wasn’t great but the community spirit certainly was.

With 30 volunteers, a fantastic amount of dangerous and unsightly rubbish was removed from some public areas of GWP.

A very special thank you goes to our organisers on the GWPRA Litter sub-committee, Tammi and Yasmin. We also give thanks to Boundary Park, Grundon and Costa Coffee for their support of our community action.

This is likely to be a monthly occurrence, so please keep an eye out on our Website or Facebook Group for further details.

If you can offer further support or wish to join the organisation of the events, please email:

Parking Signs, Flooding and Litter

PCM Parking Signs

Some of the parking restriction signs on GWP have been marked with a black “X” as they have been marked for replacement by the Developers, this does not mean the Parking Restrictions no longer apply.

Also the painting of Double Yellow lines around the District Centre area will be completed within the next few weeks.

Flooding around Boundary Park

The footpath flooding issue off Mallard Drive has been bought to the attention of the Developers and they are already investigating the issue for blockages in the system, as in the 3 years that this footpath has been complete this particular location hasn’t flooded. They have instructed their sweepers to try and pump the water off the footpath in the meantime to resolve the current issue.

The issue of rainwater across the path near Greenwood Way was also raised. This is the swale system there doing the job of taking the water and the small amount of excess is a result of significant rainfall/snowfall and will drain via the SUDS given a little time. It was unfortunate that the cold weather briefly turned it into an ice hazard.

Litter on GWP

The issue of litter on GWP is raised on a regular basis, whether it is commercial waste or private on public areas or private land. The issue is a shared responsibility amongst Residents, Developers, Council and Businesses. There is a Community Litter Pick Event on Saturday 27th January 2018 10am-12pm starting from Boundary Park Pavilion, please sign up to this Facebook Event, if you can.

The Developers have agreed to try and help support this activity. If you would like help volunteer to tackle the litter issue or have further ideas please contact
