Welcome to the website of the Great Western Park Residents’ Association (GWPRA). We are a growing community on a 3,466 home development, straddling the South and Vale border, just west of Didcot, Oxfordshire, UK.
The Residents’ Association (RA) was officially formed following a residents’ meeting held on the 24th May 2012. RA meetings are held monthly on the second Monday of each month at 7:30pm until 8:30pm, at the Boundary Park Pavilion, Great Western Park. There are no meetings planned for August, in order to allow for annual summer holidays.
The next meeting will be Monday 8th July 2019. Everyone is invited to the meetings, so please come along take the opportunity to meet your new neighbours and find out more about your Community.
This year’s planning and preparation for Activities Week in Great Western Park is well under way. It is a varied week of low or no cost activities and events taking place in GWP between the 29th July and 2nd August 2019. Everybody is welcome to attend but booking is essential.
The Neighbourhood Park, including skate park, is NOT currently open to the public. Over the past few days there has been a spate of Criminal Damages to the security fencing and unpleasant graffiti to the park area. It is suspected that School Children have been involved in the damage. Please ensure that everyone, particularly children, are aware that the Neighbourhood Park area is out of bounds to members of the public.
The GWPRA are trying to expedite the opening of the Park to the public but damage to it will only slow this process up further. The Landowners, Taylor Wimpey, are increasing security in the area and the School has been made aware. If you see any unauthorised persons in the park area, please report to the Police on 101 or if they are seen committing damage, call 999.
The Original Great Western Park public Arts strategy, produced in 2011, is up for a review. Please take time to read through it and if you have any comments or suggestions please inform Abigail Brown – Arts Development Officer for Vale of White Horse DC. If comments could be received prior Monday 10th June 2019 that would be ideal.
